Stay away Sandman

I saw a commercial were the Sandman throws a lot of magic dust in the air to make you fall asleep.  I told my mom I did not need his help.  I asked my mom to write a note to the Sandman and told her what to say.  We posted it on our door, but since we were going to visit my cousins, I took the note with me and posted in on my Aunt's door.

The Coal Elves were in my room

Last night I ran into my parents room because there was a light shining on me in my bed.  At breakfast I told my mom I thought it might be the Coal Elves (for those of you who dont know, the coal elves check on kids to see if they get on the Naughty or Nice list for Santa).

I told my mom that the elves had a smile on their face and looked happy when they left.  I slept fine the following night since now I know what that light could be.

No Cavities - 2/2

Happy to report I had a good check up and no cavities.  Because I behaved so well, I got 3 stickers!

Swimming is Exhausting

Mom and dad had a swim meet today, but I think I swam the most.  They would swim with me in between their events in the small pool.  There was no time to take a nap so i just got to swim all day.  We left the pool around 5pm and mommy seemed worried for some reason.  We stopped at McDonald's and by the time we parked with our food, I was ready to close my eyes.  Mom pleaded for me to wake up to eat...I took about 2 bites and told her i was too tired to eat.

I guess I fell asleep after that and she tucked me into my bed once we got home because she had to wake we up at 7am the next morning to get me up for school.  Did swimming really make me that tried?

Hooray! I made the height!

My 1st trip (that I will remember) to Disneyland was with my cousins Zoey and Sam. Some of the rides were a little scary, but I could handle it.  My favorite was being in the Wild Animal Cage on the Casey Jr train.  I did not get to go on Space Mountain with my cousins, but I tried hard to reach the height line stretching as tall as I could on my tip toes.  At least I got to ride the roller coaster in Toone Town.  It was AWESOME!  I rode in the front car with my mommy.  Pirates of the Carribean and Haunted Mansion were ok - I would do them again.  I mostly did not like the pictures that turned into skeletons with the lightining on the Haunted Mansion.  It was a full day of fun (12 hours) and mom and dad promise that I can go to Disneyland again...they just haven't told me when.

The best friend is a Super Hero Friend

Unexpectedly I bumped into my friends Noah and Sammi at the park.  We had a play date and wore our super hero costumes.  (I'm the one in the Spideman costume)

Omaha...

 

I was at the Olympic trials pool.  I recognized it from watching on TV.  I did not get to swim in it because it was only for adults, but our hotel pool was good for me.  I learned to do "U-turn" jumps - i would jump from the side into the pool, make a u-turn and swim back to the wall. 

We did do some fun stuff like go to the zoo, run through the fountain across from our hotel to cool off and check out all the statues.  I made sure everyone buckled up even my bunny on the shuttle.   BTW... the only reason I was in Omaha was so my parents could swim in the adult pool.

My 1st Camping Trip

I finally got to sleep in a sleeping bag inside a tent.  I have been waiting a long time to do this.  Papa and grandma Halen joined us for a weekend at Lake Cachuma.  I was so excited I could not sleep my first night in the tent.

 We roasted marshmallows (i ate mine raw since I don't like them hot or black) and went on the lake in the kayak my papa built.  We tried fishing but did not catch anything.  I knew that being out in nature it would be my right to pee outdoors.   Mom stopped me from peeing in our camp site, but I did get to pee off the boat.  :-p

Sponge Bob Sprinkler Time

It was really HOT today.  My mom set up my sponge bob sprinkler and invited my friend Rory to join us.  We jumped  over  him and when he stopped spinning, we would back up until sponge bob shot us in the butt.

Mommy Reads at School

Today was the day my mommy got to read to my class. She brought 2 of my favorite books - Can't sleep without sleep and How do Dinasours say good night?  I got to sit on stage with my mom while she read.  The best part was being able to go home with mom once we were done. 

Father's Day

Since I had to take a quiz about my mom for Mother's Day, my school decided I needed to do one for my dad too.  I think I aced it!  Love you dad

It's Just the Way God Made Me.

I was having a tough week and I just did not want to get out of bed in the morning and go to school.  The whole week mom tried to get me ready and I just refused.  By the end of the week she asked me why I was having such a hard time each moring.  I told her "That's just the way God Made ME."

Enough said.

Papa time

I asked grandma Halen what see and papa always drink at night.  She offered me a little taste of the coffee she was drinking...it was good.  The next morning papa taught me how to make coffee.  It did not seem to keep him awake all day, so I had to step in and wake him up.  Check out the video below.

Collecting Shells

Last chance to get more shells before we go home

I found lots of shells at the beach.  They were big and colorful.  I found all the purple ones since that is my favorite color.  My papa found a big Welk shell for my grandma.  The family does not talk about how the Welk shell ended up vacant for my grandma to take home.

When we would look for shells at low tide, I could feel all the little clam shells wiggle up & down in the sand under my feet.  I brought home a huge bag full of shells.

 I enjoyed the beach but my favorite part was the pool so I could swim.  I swam morning and afternoon each day.  This is a great vacation.

Calling all Crabs

Our 1st night at the beach we saw lots of crabs.  I tried knocking at their hole to ask them to come out to see me.  Mom even called out to them.  They never came when I called, but there were lots of them all over the beach.

I spent everyday at the beach.  Mostly I would collect shells but I also went FAR out into the ocean with mommy to get wet.  We even went through a wave.

BEACH HOUSE!

It took a long time to drive here last night.  I was supposed to be able to pick our own bedroom and I wanted to have my own bed.  I put my shoes and stuff in the room I wanted...the one with bunk beds.  Mom made me sad when she told me I could not sleep there.  I did like that we were staying in a "fancy" house with lots of stairs.  I can see the ocean from the balcony too.
