First Steps Surprise

Mom had a little talk with me the other day. She mentioned I only had a couple days left on my 1st year calendar in case I wanted to hit another milestone and add a sticker. Well I warned that I would take my parents by surprise.

Today as mom was in the kitchen and dad on the couch, I wandered over to the gate on my own - no holding or touching anything. Mom caught my last steps as I grabbed the gate to see what she was doing. The rest of the night mom and dad took turns standing me up and making me walk towards them. Check out the video below.

A Global Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day, dad took us all to go see the Harlem Globetrotters. WOW! They move so quick and do some many tricks I could not keep my eyes off the court. Plus they played a lot of really good music that I could dance to.

I hope you had a happy valentine's day too.

XOXOXOXOXO

Check Out My Do

Now that I am 1, mom decided it was time for my 1st hair cut. Mom did a good job. Not to much off the top or sides. What do you think?

Make a stand!

I gave my parents a surprise today. Mom tried to put me down (after fetching me from some place I was not supposed to be) and I took a stand. I mean literally... I showed her that I am more than capable of standing on my own. They better keep their eye on me because some day soon I will be able to run.

My 1 Year Check up

Wow there are a lot of check ups and report cards that happen with each milestone. At school, mom & dad had to meet with my teacher. Ms. Allison said I am a delight and right on track with my development. It is time to start reviewing which toddler room I am going to graduate to in the next few months.

My doctor said I am a well focused and a social kid. I weight 20 lbs 3 oz and 29 inches high. He was amazed at my persistence to get the cabinet doors open. He does not realize how much practice I have at home breaking out of my gated area and leaving mom and dad on the other side.

Here is a list of some of my recent accomplishments: feed myself, dance to music (learned to add a twist to my moves recently), have conversations with my parents, am close to saying dad, mom, dog, done, down, door, go and up, throw the ball to play fetch with Frankie, blow kisses, go up and down the stairs, wave good-bye and walk with some assitance (just waiting for the right moment to show mom and dad I can do it myself).

PAAARTY!!

It's my birthday and now I'm 1.

Thanks mom and dad for throwing me such a great party! I did not know I had so many friends and family. The highlight of the day was tasting my first piece of CAKE. It was so creamy and gooey...I loved squishing it through my fingers.
I won't say that I do not deserve all the wonderful gifts given to me, but mom and dad are perplexed as to where to put it all.

This has been such a good year, I am looking forward to the next one.
